PMG’s Mike Roberts brokers deal to help families access school resources

Families without access to a printer have a new, discounted option thanks to the work of our very own Mike Roberts in his capacity as President of the Independent Print Industries Association (IPIA).

Mike has known Jonathan Seaton, the chief executive and co-founder of online education resources provider Twinkl for some years and realised the print industry could play a role in helping disadvantaged children get better access to learning materials.

The IPIA put out a request to key suppliers in the industry and Xeretec stepped forward with an offer for cash back on certain HP printers and printer cartridges, which people can now purchase via the Twinkl site.

With more than 640,000 resources on the Twinkl website, it is a go-to place for families and teachers looking for activities and inspiration for children who are learning at home.

But many of the resources are designed to be printed out, which leaves some families unable to access them in the way they were intended.

Mike Roberts said: “I knew there must be a way for the print industry to make a contribution to families and children whose learning has been changed immeasurably by the current situation.

“It’s brilliant that we’ve been able to put Twinkl and Xeretec together to engineer this great offer for Twinkl members.”

Jonathan Seaton of Twinkl said: “Joining forces with the IPIA and Xeretec has enabled us to go some way towards helping people print the resources they may need to help children and young people learn at home.

“It’s wonderful to have the opportunity to partner with organisations who are helping us to further fulfil our mission to help those who teach.”
